UpBeat Music was founded in 2011 by Dick Reinlie originally in Crestview.  Dick is a lifetime musician with roots here in Fort Walton Beach.  His family originally moved here in 1965.  He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School iin 1973, Okaloosa Walton Jr College (Northwest Florida State College) in 1975 and Florida State University in 1978.   

Dick had a 25 year career in telecommunications service and manufacturing before hanging it up and re enter his first love of music.  You can find him playing drums locally and nationally.  

In April 2019, Dick Reinlie opened a second location in Fort Walton Beach to enable UpBeat Music to serve more communities. This second location is the home of our main guitar workshop, and also provides music lessons in our studios. UpBeat Music is active with the local school music programs and frequently sponsors charity events and live music shows that help local organizations, bands, and musicians.

Unfortunately in 2024, UpBeat Music consolated locations and was established as the premier store for Guitars, Sound Equipment, Drums, and keyboards.
